she wrote words so sweet, they melted the world.

It was unfair for her
to have it all.
Take in the world,
without giving anything back.
She was at its feet
with sorrow.
So she gave it her heart.
She promised romance
and shared words so sweet,
it melted the world.

She was the stars above the ocean and the sand beneath the waves. She would shine at lowest light but sparkle during highest sun.

SHE WANTED HER PERFUME TO READ LIKE ROMANCE ATELIER COLOGNE, ORANGER SANGUINE

SHE WANTED HER PERFUME TO READ LIKE ROMANCE
ATELIER COLOGNE, ORANGER SANGUINE

Each layer was fragrant.
Every note hung onto the last.
Creating a story about
How two people met,
Lead complicated lives
and still found one another.
She wanted her perfume to read like romance.
Like she has been loved,
and been loved right.

She sunk into the cushions of her couch, pulled her feet in and looked up at the man she once called hers. He was leaving. He wanted nothing from a woman who waited after him. A woman with no mind, no self and no sense of passion. His departure was her arrival and a new age of independence emerged. Her own being was hers and hers alone.

CONFIDENCE
POETRY FOR WOMEN

She was a force. Her confidence filled rooms like wildfires. Like a woman set to destroy the world she led. Set to lead men into chaos. Set to unveil a burning love that created scar tissue far deeper than flesh and bone.

I don't see you in my dreams anymore. Instead you've become part of a reality that is far greater than closing my eyes and dreaming you up.

Her scent lingered
in the waters
of the oceans,
sands of the earth,
and winds of the sky.
She was nomadic,
but her musk
would linger behind.

Only to hold you close, she would bare herself naked.
Take away the past and find the future with you.

JUST AS SHE IS

When the world wasn't enough,
she turned to herself to find beauty within.
She self-cared.
She self-loved.

She lived through paper.
Pages heavy with beauty.
Books filled with escape.

It was her heart and her soul that lived in her reflection. With them there, staring back at her, she was able to love herself unconditionally.

She collected the stars
of the ocean and
laid them by her bed.
They helped her
dream long and lustful
thoughts of following
the waves ashore to
a new place.
A new home.

LEATHER VISOR
LACK OF COLOUR

Her heart was
set on the horizon.
A destination between the ocean and the sun.

Her heart wondered and
she wanted to go with it.
She wanted to escape.
She was electric
and the city was getting
too small.

She never compromised herself. She just spent life wondering if people would eventually get it. That she had a doe-like heart and soaring soul.

Like the full moon, she stood amongst the sun. She took in its warmth and reflected it onto the world. For whatever she could take, she would give back.

A spell of solitude spilled from her heart and crawled along her skin until her body was covered in the overwhelming feeling of running away and never looking back.

And when she dived into deep waters, her body melted into waves. She molded herself into an ocean and let a sea take her away.

She wrapped herself in it.

In its silky sheets of blue,

And frothy foam.

She gave herself to the ocean

And let the wind

Set her sail.

And when she met the sun,

She gave her clothes to the wind

And let its warmth hug her body.

Her happiness was amongst

an infinite pool of water.

In the depths of a saturated sky.

Where the ocean

crashed into the sun.

She grasped at the sunlight
with her fingertips.
Although weightless,
its warmth felt like soft linens
wrapping around bare skin.

Her heart often told her to sit still.
Sit still and harness the sounds that came from the wind.
Latch onto its direction and let go.
Loose control.

Afternoons alone were afternoons with him. Apart, they were still together.

The sun followed her skin.
Creating shadow
and highlights
on a landscape
of silk.
He ran his fingers
along her body.
Sweeping them
over the highest points
and losing them
at the base of each
shadow.

She was deep
in emotions.
The tide that
streamed down
her cheeks
filled an ocean
of sentiment.
Drowning,
she turned
on her back
and started to float.
She couldn't
control them
but she could
ride their waves.
Run up the tide
and down the stream.
Until she was ashore, safe.

Her home was filled with the largest flowers.
They were a symbol of how no beauty was immune to death.

She was an introvert. She lived inside her mind. Where her dreams were full. Where life amongst sun was endless and the feeling of salted winds never faded. She captured a paradise of a boundless ocean and spirited waves. And there, she would live forever. The escape of her mind kept her here. Kept her numb to the realities that dimmed her dreams of the forever of happiness that could be amongst the sun.

She admired their bed.
How it was hers
and just as much his.
How two heads laid there
and dreamt long,
lustful dreams of
running away
but never leaving
one another behind.

She washed you away. But as your remnants trickled down her legs like soft water,
She remembered your touch and ran back to you.

And when his touch felt distant. She laid amongst flower petals. Gentle reminders of his fingertips.

And when his touch felt distant. She laid amongst flower petals. Gentle reminders of his fingertips.

she was amongst a reality that was a dream

I took my heart and hid it in the earth. I let its blood run through its sands and fill a pool of water so big, they called it the ocean. I covered the earth in its entirety and met the horizon that split the earth and the sky. Suddenly, I wanted to fly. So I opened my heart again to reflect the sun and the moon. I covered the planet with stars and gave the world an infinite reflection of the universe. My soul dove in and started to float. Surrounded by darkness, it looked back at the earth and found beauty on the ground. It landed on a mountain and gazed upon the earth's valleys. At the pit of their shadows was my body. Dry from breath but filled with life.

The embodiment of a galaxy: Tiny stars, small rocks, and sand.
I had lived.
Full circle.

She hung her dreams up on stars.
Tiny, bright rocks in the sky.
Close enough to heaven to remain but a dream.
Close enough to earth to come true.

And when the stars in the sky weren't enough, she laid her head on the moon and waited after the sun.
